SEM has following strategic objectives:

• To achieve right to a quality basic education for children living in poverty, and have educational opportunities to help adults living in poverty to overcome their poverty.

• To achieve tangible improvements in health of people living in poverty (especially focusing sexual and reproductive health & HIV & AIDS) through increased access to affordable and adequate health education , basic health, clean water, sanitation and public health services.

• To achieve right to economic growth of the people living in extreme poverty by linking them with the financial institutions and initiating income generation activities.

• To achieve food and income security as well as greater protection of, and control over the local resources on which people living in poverty depend.

• People living in poverty achieve access to secure paid employment, dignified working conditions, labor rights and be empowered to participate in and benefit from markets.
