Social Mobilization & Community Physical Infrastructure Project

Awaz Foundation Pakistan: Centre for Development Services has been implementing Social Mobilization Project in 4 rural Union Councils of District Multan since September,2009. The overall purpose of SM project is to mobilize the vulnerable & marginalized communities for their greater and active participation in community development and political empowerment by enhancing their involvement and capacities through different mobilization techniques. Awaz believes Community participation is a key to sustainable development and to secure the future of marginalized communities. Awaz selects mainly low-income communities that lack infrastructure and facilities. Subsequent social and development studies have proved that lack of physical infrastructure and social facilities are prevalent because of bad governance, lack of political will of elected representatives, poverty and lack of community participation. Through this approach following are the achievements under SMP project:

  2. 11 Village Development Organizations (VDO) formed
