Social Action, Research and Training Institute (SARTI)
SARTI is a resource centre and a social research and training institute which was established in 2002 and upgraded in 2008
Interns mainly from NGORC have also been trained by the resource centre.
Now it has been upgraded as a training and research institute- SARTI serves as “brain” of AwazCDS and the nerve center for social research and training. It has been equipped with modern training and publishing facilities so that research done could be published in-house. It is an institute where the training modules are developed and used on the basis of ground realities and region specific social and economic development needs. This is a potentially lucrative venture that remained un-exploited specifically in Southern Punjab with its many raw uninformed NGOs that are formed in the areas and beyond. It is the basis on which Awaz will rely on for self-sustainability and attract a variety of clientele. Moreover, it is providing basis for Information and Knowledge management process and making AwazCDS as Multidisciplinary Documentation Centre, a focal point for training and applied research activities and a consultative centre for development services for all the communities upon their request. This resource centre is situated in Multan.
The major objectives of SARTI are:
-
To build the capacities of Awaz CDS Staff, PARCs, Civil Society Organizations (national and International) to address the plight of the people living in poverty through increased opportunities of training and exposures.
-
To build the capacities of member communities living in poverty (with less educational opportunities) through training and exposures to overcome their poverty.
-
To improve the availability of trained human resources in southern Punjab to take up the development activities for the marginalized communities.
