Integrated Community Development & Empowerment Program (ICDEP)

Integrated Community Development & Empowerment Program (ICDEP) is being implemented by AwazCDS in four districts (Multan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan) of Southern Punjab. 04 poorest of the poor tehsils (Multan, Alipur, Jamur & Taunsa) were selected for intervention respectively. The programme focuses on institutional and organizational development for community based management to increase the productivity of the human capital to reduce poverty by enhancing the capacity of the targeted communities and their voluntary groups. The programme aims to mobilize and organize the poorest of the poor communities.

Focuses upon awareness raising on social, political and economic issues through regular meetings, dialogues and forums, Formation of community groups called VDCs, comprised of broad-based representation of social groups, Enhancement of skills and capacity building to undertake viable community development work, Building local resources and linkages of these groups to handle their work independently and initiate rights based advocacy.
