Awaz Foundation Pakistan: Centre for Development Services (AwazCDS-Pakistan) has been acknowledged with Humanitarian Excellence Award 2010 for its entire efforts and contributions for the relief and early recovery of the flood victims in Southern Punjab. The Humanitarian Excellence Award & Appreciation Ceremony was organized by the Rakz Communications [Pvt.] Limited on December 19, 2010 at Marriot Hotel Karachi on behalf of Federal Chamber of Commerce & Industries with the support of Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Nations Mr. Hussain Abdullah Haroon.AwazCDS- Pakistan’s Founder & Chief Executive Mr. Mohammad Zia-ur-Rehman received this Humanitarian Excellence Award from Mr. Kazi Asad Abid (Chairman Trust for Voluntary Organizations) in the presence of the National & International dignitaries including NGOs, CBOs, Foreign Missions, Heads of Media [Electronic & Print], ISPR, & Individuals etc. Other note able Award winners were UNWFP, UNOCHA, SROPOTOMIST –UK, ActionAid, Imran Khan Foundation, HANDs, Sahara for Life Trust, Youth Parliament of Pakistan, ISPR and KGNT-ARY etc. Mr. Mohammad Zia-ur-Rehman while speaking on the eve said that “He would like to give all the credit of this award to Awaz Board members, Awaz Team members and to the communities with which Awaz works.Later talking with Awaz Team Members he said that winning this highly credible award will further encourage & sustain our efforts in this region in future
