Every Child Deserves a Childhood
In the world of Work 165 million children aged 5 to 14 years are used, out of which 74 million are engaged in such works that could be dangerous to their lives. Compared with other continents, child labor is most vigorously practiced in Asian countries. Despite the fact that over the past six years the number of minors who worked here fell by nearly 5 million people, yet more than 122 million children and adolescents aged 5 to 14 years are engaged in commerce or in the workplace. Among the “leaders” who indulge children in child labor are Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh

A Vital voice for women
The woman plays vital roles in building the society on healthier and stronger foundations. Challenging Violence against women
2
Gender-based violence is universal, differing only in scope from one society to the next. Much of this violence is inflicted on girls and women by husbands, fathers, or other male relatives. The home can be one of the most dangerous places for a wo
man to be.
This violence includes a wide range of violations of women’s human rights, including trafficking in women and girls, rape, wife abuse, sexual abuse of children, and harmful cultural practices and traditions that irreparably damage girls’ and women’s reproductive and sexual health. Although reliable data on the incidence of gender-based violence is scarce, especially in Southern Punjab. However Awaz CDS has developed a database to collect the record from all the national print media about such violence cases and according to this database: 251 Women got victim of various forms of violence only in the first month of 2010
A Pink ribbon for all women
International Cancer Day had been celebrated all over the world on 4th February to take steps to reduce cancer disease and increase awareness among the masses toward this horrible disease so that less number of people could suffer the disease and survive better. Among women rate of breast cancer and gastrointestinal tract cancer is alarmingly high While other five types of cancer diagnosed in women are head and neck cancer, mouth and ear cancer and ovary, bladder and cervix cancers. Among men, the most rampant are head and neck cancer while lymphoma, lung cancer, liver and urinary bladder cancer are also diagnosed. More than one million women world wide are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. It is estimated that 1 in 9 Pakistani women suffer from breast cancer at some stage of their life. Several studies and reports suggest that among Asian population, Pakistani women have the highest risk of breast cancer. At least 90,000 women suffer from breast cancer in Pakistan every year. Over 10,000 endure female breast cancer patients out of 83 million of population in Punjab reported to healthcare professionals, which suggested that less than 50 per cent of women, suffering from breast cancer, had never gone to doctors in Pakistan. The cause of which has been described as increasing poverty and lack of state-run healthcare facilities. According to different surveys, breast cancer in West was contracted at 60 years of age or more, but in Pakistan it occurred at the age of 45, which means that women suffered the malady earlier and died younger. There were only four to five trained medical oncologists, 15 to 16 radio oncologists and handful of nurses dealing in cancer specialty in Punjab one cancer hospital in private sector ie Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, whereas there were seven cancer healthcare facilities in government sector including three to four cancer centres of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) in addition to Lahore. There are only 500 beds allocated for all cancer patients out of total population of 83 million in Punjab, which means that there is one bed for 150,000 people in the province," Due to this lack of facilities only 15% cancer patients survive in Pakistan’ There is need to create awareness about breast cancer among women, the government and voluntary organizations should create awareness through extensive publicity campaigns.
